In 1975, two Protestant churches in the center of Washington, DC, two blocks apart, belonging to different denominations and having different traditions and members of differenct ethnic backgrounds, started on a joint ecumenical journey. Today, twenty-five years later, The United Church is a living testimony that there can be unity enriched by great diversity. We offer English and German language services. We are engaged in neighborhood and community concerns and, through various programs, we try to help solve social problems in the inner city. Please join us at The United Church as we seek to fulfill the words of Ephesians 2:19-20: "So you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone."
